Ruth-Ann White is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience. She has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient private practice, community-based mental health, Telehealth, and schools. Her experiences include working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with a wide range of concerns including adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, trauma, grief, PTSD, ADHD, and crisis intervention.
Ruth-Ann offers sex therapy for both couples and individuals. Additionally, she has completed over 60 hours of intensive training in attachment-based couple’s therapy called Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills.)
Ruth-Ann believes empathy and understanding are some of the greatest gifts one human can give to another. She personalizes your counseling experience to your needs, drawing from various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Ruth-Ann prides herself on being a sex-positive and inclusive therapist. As an inclusive therapist, Ruth-Ann seeks to affirm, support, and advocate for underserved and marginalized communities. Using a collaborative and empowering approach with clients, Ruth-Ann aims to create a safe space for expression, exploration, and healing. She provides allyship and describes herself as LGBTQIA+ affirming and has a strong background in sexual health education (prevention, as well as destigmatizing). BDSM/Kink-friendly.
Ruth-Ann is a North Carolina native. When she is not working, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, visiting local garden centers, creating terrariums, kayaking, and playing board games with friends. She lives with her partner, a calico cat, a beagle-mix dog, and a whole lotta plants!
