Kennedy Guidry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of North Carolina. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi.
During her graduate career, Kennedy worked as a therapist-in-training at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Family Therapy. During her time at the Center, Kennedy worked with a variety of populations including adult individuals, couples, and families with children/adolescents, as well as multiple different challenges that these populations may face.
Kennedy’s specific interests lie in the population of emerging/young adults; premarital, marital, and couples counseling; and difficulties surrounding life transitions. In therapy, she often utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy, experiential therapy, and attachment theory, but ultimately tailors the therapeutic services to the clients’ specific needs. Kennedy is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. Kennedy is receiving ongoing training in sex therapy and marital/couples counseling. Kennedy has completed training in EMDR and is able to offer her services in this area as an EMDR-informed therapist.
Outside of the therapy room, Kennedy enjoys trying local restaurants (specifically bakeries), finding new places to hike, and visiting the library for a new book to read.
