Jamesa S. Bitting is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She obtained her bachelor’s degree as a dual major in both Women and Gender and African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She later obtained her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and her Masters of Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Jamesa has a passion for working with individuals, couples and blended families. She also specializes in parenting as she studied Birth – K in her Masters studies. Jamesa believes that couples building or rebuilding trust, respect and loyal in their relationships is key to the healing process. Jamesa offers sex therapy for both couples and individuals. Additionally, she has completed over 60 hours of intensive training in attachment-based couple’s therapy called Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills.)
Jamesa also believes that her professional experiences and personal background as an African-American therapist can assist in dispelling the misconceptions and reservation that come with receiving effective therapy. She believes that her warm and inviting approach helps couples’ journey through their healing.
In her spare time, Jamesa enjoys quality time with her family and friends and traveling to warm destinations. Jamesa is also very active in early childhood advocacy in North Carolina.
