Annie White is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) who aims to create an affirming and inclusive space for both individuals and couples to explore intimacy, identity, and connection. She brings a culturally responsive and sex-positive lens to working with diverse identities and relationship styles, being kink-informed, consensual non-monogamy and poly-inclusive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, bringing a deep respect for the complexity and diversity of her clients’ lived experiences.
Annie is especially passionate about supporting clients in navigating concerns related to sex, desire, and relational dynamics. She works with individuals and couples experiencing issues such as mismatched libidos, sexual dysfunction, pain during sexual activity, anorgasmia (difficulty or inability to orgasm), and exploring sexual orientation or gender identity. She also enjoys working with neurodivergent individuals and couples, particularly those with ADHD, who are seeking to strengthen emotional and sexual intimacy in their relationships. In her work with couples, Annie helps partners explore sexual changes and desires to deepen their sexual, emotional, and interpersonal connection. Drawing from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), she guides couples in identifying and interrupting the negative cycles that contribute to disconnection or conflict. Through this process, partners are able to access and express deeper emotions and attachment needs, creating more safety, vulnerability, and closeness in their relationship.Annie’s therapeutic approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She is currently expanding her couples therapy skills through an externship in EFCT and is pursuing AASECT certification after studying under Kinsey Institute fellow Dr. Justin Lehmiller.
Annie holds a Master of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her clinical experience includes working with trauma, chronic mental health concerns, disability, and housing instability. She has also supported patients in gender-affirming care settings and served with AmeriCorps, where she educated clinicians about domestic and interpersonal violence.
In her free time, Annie enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants, and listening to thought-provoking podcasts.
Annie currently practices in-person at our Raleigh location, and online for clients anywhere in NC.
