Clinical Intern
(She/Her/Hers)
Christine Stanczak is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at North Carolina Central University and an intern at Awakenings, working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Before beginning her journey as a counselor, Christine spent nearly two decades in pharmaceutical and biotech research. She also holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health Epidemiology from George Washington University.
Christine is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to make meaningful change. She works with adults navigating stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Christine approaches counseling with warmth and curiosity and believes that people are the experts on their own lives. Her work is grounded in a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, and she is currently expanding her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method.
Christine believes that healing happens in authentic, affirming spaces where clients feel deeply seen and heard. She strives to create a collaborative, respectful environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, reconnect with their values, and move toward meaningful change. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for something to shift, Christine offers a calm, supportive space to help you explore what’s working, what’s not, and where you want to go next.
In her free time, Christine enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and two kids, and finding small ways to bring joy and creativity into everyday life—often while dreaming up their next family adventure.
Christine currently practices in-person at our Raleigh location, and online for clients anywhere in NC.
