Jenny Elander is in her final year of her Master of Social Work (MSW) program at North Carolina State University, after previously earning her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology at UNC-CH. With a professional background in education and executive function coaching for adults with ADHD, she is passionate about helping people of all ages learn and grow. Her work with parents of young children as an early childhood educator developed her expertise in assisting couples during that particularly intense season of life and motivated her to head back to school and work towards her LCSW.
Jenny’s therapeutic framework draws from both Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She believes that a deeper understanding of our past attachments and learned coping mechanisms is key to helping couples and individuals unlock a new perspective of their patterns. This approach will empower them to work towards a deeper understanding of each other and their relationship. Her therapeutic practice is trauma-informed, sex positive, and LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming.
Leading with warmth, a strengths-based approach, and an open, collaborative style, Jenny supports her clients on their unique journeys.
Jenny currently practices online for clients anywhere in NC.
