Samia Ali is a clinical intern pursuing her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. Samia believes that our closest relationships shape how we heal and how we see ourselves. She approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, believing her clients are the experts of their own lives who sometimes just need support and connection along the way.
Samia works through an attachment lens and prioritizes:

- Understanding how family of origin and relational legacies shape people today
Background and Personal Story:
- A South Asian immigrant as a child, Samia has lived in various cities across the United States throughout adulthood and is now an American citizen.
- She values the diversity of the cultural landscape in the U.S. and approaches therapy with cultural humility and a social justice mindset.
- Her passion for couples work began in her personal life: “I was inspired to specialize in couple’s therapy after meeting the love of my life, who happened to be Puerto Rican American. Our multicultural relationship became a space to heal, grow, and become.”
- This experience led her to pursue training in helping couples from all walks of life.
Clinical Approach:
Samia uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples:
- Break painful negative cycles
- Improve emotional connection
- Rebuild safety, trust, and closeness
She also integrates Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
