Laura Lohr is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist – Associate. Laura has a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from UNC-Greensboro, and a Master of Social Work Degree from the Joint Master of Social Work Program with North Carolina A&T State University, and UNCG. Laura practices at the Greensboro office.
When working with clients, Laura uses a direct, honest, and hands on approach designed to fit your overall needs. She customizes treatment plans based on your individual personality, realizing that each person and couple is unique. She combines this approach with Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities, including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Practices, etc.
Her areas of specialization include working in the private practice setting with individuals, couples, families, and groups, around issues including anxiety, depression, compulsive disorders, substance use, sexual addiction/dysfunction, sexual trauma, relationship distress, family conflict, life transitions, PTSD, and Eating Disorders. Laura has also facilitated support groups for seniors, and the LGBTQA population, focusing on gender identity and transitioning.
Fun Facts: Outside of the counseling office, Laura enjoys spending time with her partner, family and friends. A true wonderer, Laura loves to travel and experience all the world has to offer, seeing new places, learning about other cultures, and trying new foods. She is also an avid reader, and quite the old soul; she likes to listen, sing, and dance along to her favorite music, including Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. Laura also enjoys hiking, yoga, and shopping. She’s a true girly girl who incorporates DIY spa treatments in her self-care routine!
