Parker is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. Additionally, she is credentialed as a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Parker earned her BA in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She continued her studies at Clemson University where she earned her Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) and her Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Parker’s therapeutic work is grounded in a blend of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She views her clients as the true experts of their own lives and believes in collaborating with them to develop individualized approaches that support their goals and values. Her counseling style is warm, respectful, curious, and adaptive. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Parker is particularly passionate about fostering inclusivity and providing affirming care to neurodivergent individuals and couples, as well as those within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Parker has experience working with individual adults and couples with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, sexual dysfunction, infidelity, substance abuse, grief, life transitions, disordered eating, identity and sexuality exploration, and interpersonal struggles. She is especially drawn to helping individuals feel seen and empowered as they navigate the complexities of life. For couples, Parker brings a deep appreciation for the emotional connections that serve as secure bases in relationships. She understands how strains in these bonds can ripple into other areas of life and is dedicated to helping couples rebuild trust, communication, and intimacy.
Parker’s work is driven by her belief in the transformative power of connection – both within ourselves and with others. She continually engages in ongoing education and advocacy to deepen her clinical expertise and to uphold her commitment to social justice and equity. Whether working with individuals or couples, Parker’s goal is to walk alongside her clients as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and fulfillment.
Parker offers sex therapy for both couples and individuals. Additionally, she has completed over 60 hours of intensive training in attachment-based couple’s therapy called Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills.)
Outside of the office, Parker enjoys making art, thrifting, spending time with loved-ones, and going walking with her dogs (Ophie and Maverick) and her partner.
Parker currently practices in-person at our Raleigh location, and online for clients anywhere in NC.
